Overview

Ngāti Tūwharetoa Geothermal is a wholesale steam and brine supply business supplying a mix of industrial customers in Kawerau. We are currently operating in one of the largest geothermal fields in the world.

We specialize in the development, management, and commercialisation of geothermal energy. The company operates in partnership with energy providers and stakeholders, contributing to New Zealand’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

Process Heat

We supply geothermal process steam at pressures of 7 to 16 bar, with around 2.8 GJ of thermal energy per tonne of steam. We also supply process water at a temperature of 170 degC (7 bar), with around 0.7 GJ of thermal energy per tonne of water.
